FAACCE Awards

Excellence, formally recognised.

Introduction

An annual international awards programme honouring the artists, craftspeople, designers, filmmakers and cultural leaders shaping the continent's creative present.

Our Mission

To create the most credible, transparent and globally recognised platform for excellence in African creativity — judged by peers, scholars and institutions, and free from commercial influence.

Objectives

Four pillars of the programme.

01

Peer-Reviewed Juries

Independent international juries drawn from the Curatorial Council and partner institutions.

02

Transparent Process

Published criteria, open shortlists and full disclosure of jury composition.

03

Categories

Awards across Fine Art, Craftsmanship, Fashion, Documentary, Performance and Cultural Leadership.

04

Lifetime Honours

An annual Pan-African Honour for lifetime contribution to African culture.

Ceremony

01

Staged with institutional gravity.

An annual ceremony alternating between African capitals, broadcast internationally and accompanied by a touring exhibition of laureates' work.

Laureates

02

A canon, built openly.

Every laureate's work enters the FAACCE Archives and is presented in dedicated exhibitions across partner cities.

Integrity

03

Independent. On the record.

The Awards operate under a published constitution, with annual integrity reports and no paid entry of any kind.
